A Message From the President

This is an exciting time for Mitchell College!  We have embarked upon a Campus Master Planning process to help align the facilities with the transforming educational experience of our mission.  The focus is on the environment in which we support a diverse, student-centered community and the academic programs that address individual learning differences while instilling professional knowledge and skills.  The plan is being developed by Sasaki Associates, in conjunction with Mitchell’s Campus Master Plan Committee.

The Master Plan Committee is made up of broad cross-section of the community, including students, faculty, staff, and administrators.   They are the conduit for information regarding the Campus Master Plan in addition to this website.

The new Campus Master Plan will be our map for the journey into the future for Mitchell College.  It will help define the priorities for capital asset reinvestment, new building construction and renovation of current facilities.

On this website, you will find information about the committee members, the goals of the process, timelines and progress toward those goals.  You will also have the opportunity to give feedback directly to Sasaki regarding the Campus Master Plan.

Please visit the site often and take the opportunity to let us know your thoughts on the Campus Master Plan.

- Mary Ellen Jukoski, Ed.D. President

What's New?

On September 27, Sasaki Associates met with the Mitchell College Board of Trustees and the Master Planning Committee to present the final master plan. The presentation highlighted key components of the plan as well as five guiding principles that together with the analysis and community input, formed the basis of the master plan.

Please visit the "Work-to-Date" page to view the PowerPoint from the presentation as well as the new campus master plan document.

Upcoming Meetings

Board of Trustees
October 2005

The Board of Trustees will reconvene in October to vote on the approval of the master plan and the next steps towards implementing the visionary plan.

Implementation of the master plan over time is dependant on several factors including fundraising, public approvals and the complex logistics of continuing use and occupancy of existing buildings. The new projects and detailed spaces moves throughout campus are identified in a phasing plan, which directly reinforces the College's dedication to assisting students with learning disabilities and untapped potential, while simultaneously improving the College's identity and increasing student amenities.

Please join the College in helping make this Master Plan a reality!!
