Based on Sasaki's understanding of the objectives established by the College, the physical site analysis of the campus and campus worksessions, the following principles have been identified:
- Create a unified and contiguous residential and academic core campus
- Develop cohesive residential villages by class
- Reinforce the mission by bringing together academic, social and spiritual pursuits
- Strengthen movement systems on campus by creating a better pedestrian environment and creating clear peripheral vehicular circulation and parking
- Extend the landscape quality of defined open spaces and quadrangles found on the historic middle campus
- Focus strategic acquisitions on key nodes and important campus links
- Respect the surrounding character of the neighborhoods by creating density closest to the core campus
- Concentrate faculty on the campus to encourage collaboration.
