
At its November, 2006 visit the studioINSITE and Sasaki Associates, Inc. Team provided offered planning principles to guide the plan's development and contents:
- Develop master plan that illustrates location, form, dimensions and program to meet the institutions' top-priority facilities for the next five years. Identify financial means of achieving this growth;
- Develop a plan that features components of sustainable design, consistent with the City of Denver's Greenprint Denver Plan;
- Enhance circulation for pedestrians and bicyclists;
- Reduce the automobile dependence of the campus site plan;
- Construct high performance buildings;
- Provide for rich open space experiences;
- Reduce stormwater impacts;
- Preserve historically significant facilities;
- Enhance campus access;
- Enhance the design aesthetic and utility of the campus, creating opportunity for each institution to have an independent identity as a component of the larger AHEC identity.
